Our Research Focus

The Zhang Lab investigates how chemical structures influence chemical reactivity and charge transport at the molecular scale using Scanning Tunneling Microscopic Break-Junction. By combining molecular design, spectroscopy, and nanofabrication, the group explores the fundamental principles of physical chemistry and develops molecular systems for catalysis, quantum computing, and energy conversion. Our interdisciplinary approach bridges physical chemistry, materials science, and nanotechnology to uncover new ways of controlling chemical and physical properties.
